PERSONAL INFORMATION & MUSICAL EXPERIENCE
Dirk Scheuer, guitarist & composer, is a honorary member of
Retro Superdrive - a fantastic German jam rock band - and founder of the Dirk Scheuer Softcore Explosion. He was born on 14 April 1969 in Delmenhorst, Germany. Dirk became interested in music under the influence of his mother and the nice coloured pictures on the LP-Cover of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band at the age of seven. In 1983/1984 he took the first step in learning and playing guitar. His first guitar was a Höfner acoustic guitar with nylon strings, his first electric guitar was a sleazy Ibanez Roadstar Custom Made with a Roland Amplifier Jazz Chorus 50. Horrible sounds and noises!

He made his first studies with Peter Schneider and Andreas Wehage. Over the years he played with miscellaneous musicians in loudish rock- and hardrockbands. His tight and versatile playing without any boundaries or limitations gave Bands like DoD, The Hydroplanes, Grong or last but not least the great Regie Red & The Original Reginalds their distinctive sound. Seeing Dirk live in concert is always a refreshing experience, because he is an authentic improvisator, a "hard as a rock" rock'n'roll rhythm guitarist and he always shares his affection on guitar with his band members.
